Hawks out of playoffs after loss to Dunnville

By Neil Becker Sports Reporter It just wasn’t meant to be for the Hagersville Hawks who despite badly outshooting Dunnville, saw their playoff run come to a premature disappointing end. Playing in a charged up Hagersville arena, the Hawks, who finished 16 points ahead of their opponents in the regular season, blasted 42 shots on goal and generated all sorts of offensive opportunities but couldn’t capitalize as they were officially ousted in the opening round of Game 7 by a 2-1 score. “It was a hard fought series by both teams,” Hawks rookie forward Hayden Smith said.
