International Women’s Day, a day to remember….

It’s ironic that as Canada and the world mark International Women’s Day that here in Canada indigenous women are still waiting for justice as the national Murdered an Missing Indigenous Women Inquiry sorts through the details of setting up a commission. It is uneasy to think that the violence perpetrated against indigenous women and girls continues and it is just as uneasy for Canadians who will sit uneasy as the inquiry unfolds and the country learns of the roles wider society has played in the ugly shared history that gave root to the violence.
