Mikenzie Sandy leads Moose Cree to L’NHL silver

By Neil Becker Sports News Mikenzie Sandy might not have gotten gold, but that didn’t dampen the goaltender’s strong enthusiasm when reflecting on what was her final year of L’NHL competition. Though from Six Nations, Sandy, who actually didn’t play ice hockey this winter, donned the Moose Cree sweater where ironically enough she found herself playing the Six Nations Wild who pulled off a suspenseful 1-0 victory in the Midget ‘B’ Championship held in Mississauga. “It’s still an accomplishment,” Sandy said about earning a silver medal in what was her sixth and final year of participating in L’NHL. “It was great hockey and a lot of fun.” Reflecting what she liked best about participating Sandy replied, “Meeting new people and playing the different reserves.” Despite not strapping on the goalie…
