Shelby Whitlow makes lacrosse debut

By Neil Becker Sports News Breaking out into a slight grin, Shelby Whitlow admitted to having mixed emotions about making her lacrosse debut. “I was excited and nervous,” Whitlow, who is 12 years-old said. “I like the exercise.” Having never played lacrosse Whitlow, whose brother Wes plays for the Six Nations Rebels, received lots of encouragement during what was an Easter weekend Bantam Girls practice. “I thought she did really well,” Leslie Powless who was filling in to run practice said. “Her father has worked with her on catching and passing, and Shelby’s teammates were very encouraging which was great to see.” One of the teammates offering strong support and full of praise was Whitlow’s cousin Liyah Simon who commented, “I think she did great.” Meanwhile following Bantam girls practice,…
