By Neil Becker Sports News Mazie Sandy couldn’t stop smiling as she proudly displayed her first place ribbons. In discovering her athletic potential which is what school track and field is all about, this Emily C. General Grade 2 student finished first in such events as the ball throw, running long jump and 50 metre run. “Awesome,” was the word Sandy used to describe how she enjoyed competing. When asked about her favourite part of the events which include long jump, high jump, shot putting and running the track, she enthusiastically replied, “Running.” Overall, it was a great day for the Sandy household as her brother Kion also had a collection of first place ribbons which came from such events as the running long jump and 200 metre run. “I…
