Letters to Editor: Banishment discussed as killer walks among us

Editor’s Note-The Haudenosaunee Confederacy Council has had the issue of banishment for those guilty of murder put before it. (Turtle Island News June 7, 2017 edition) The issue will go to Grand Council for all Haudenosaunee communities to consider. In light of this development Norma Jacobs, grandmother to Tashina General is speaking out. Tashina was strangled and her body hidden for months by Kent Own Hill. Hill pled guilty to manslaughter in her death and is out after serving eight years and seven months. He was released from prison in Nov., 2016.
