Lions fall short in bid for OFSAA Boys AAA Field Lacrosse gold

By Neil Becker Sports Reporter Despite a solid effort the Assumption Lions didn’t strike gold at the OFSAA Boys AAA Field lacrosse festival. Looking to create some history by becoming the first Lions team since 2014 to earn OFSAA gold, Assumption who scored some highlight reel goals, ended tournament play on a positive note as they clinched 13th place on the strength of consecutive victories starting with a 1-0 default decision against St. FX followed a few hours later with a momentum swinging 9-8 victory at Bisons Alumni& North Park field against Mayfield. “It was fun,” Assumptions’ Tayton Skye, who scored two goals against Mayfield said. “I just wish we could have won more games.” Assumption, who originally didn’t qualify for this year’s OFSAA Field lacrosse festival, got that golden…
