Letters: Reader; corporations, not in our best interest

In my opinion how can the Indigenous Affairs Band Council own any land? I believe it is against the law. Under the Indian Act, band council may not own land. Under a corporation the land is chattel. Under FEE SIMPLE the Province owns the land. The goverment knows this. The province may expropriate the land, as it would be outside of the Indian Act. So you would have a band council knowingly giving the land away to the province. That is not in our best interest. But what would one expect from government employees if the land is for “the people” I do not want the Indigenous Affairs band council giving away land. I also do not want the band council running a corporation under my RIGHTS.
