Women’s box lacrosse makes NAIG debut By: Neil Becker Sports Reporter Many enthusiastic spectators were on hand to witness a monumental sporting moment, which was the first ever woman’s box lacrosse game being played at NAIG. Eagerly pounding drums, shouting encouragement and showing strong passion were family, friends and die hard lacrosse fans who sat in the ILA stands or stood by the glass for that Monday 9 a.m. game were treated to a showcase of elite skills in what was an eventual 8-7 win for the U-19 Team Ontario squad against Team B.C. “I was really nervous,” Team Ontario speedster Jaelena Doxtator who came from Oneida Reserve in London said. “After the first period I settled down and really got into the game.” Though Doxtator already has a NAIG…
