Former Minister released on day parole

A Six Nations man and former minister, Ronald Burning, who was convicted of sexual assault of women, children and men has been released on day parole despite admitting that he still see’s children in a sexual way according to the Parole Board Report. “You admit that you still think of children in a sexual way but you have no inclination to act on it. You were able to give the Board examples of coping strategies such using visual aids, focusing on long term goals rather than immediate gratification and reaching out for help.” said the report. Burning is being released on a six month day parole to an undisclosed correctional institution or community residence such as a half way house.
