Hawks’ Hayden Smith feeling optimistic

By Neil Becker Sports News Listening to Hagersville Hawks forward Hayden Smith, it wasn’t hard to pick up that strong excitement he has for the upcoming season. Shortly following that much anticipated first exhibition game which saw the Hawks travel to Dunnville where they played to an action packed 3-3 draw, Smith replied, “I’m real excited to get back into it and I thought the boys did a good job for most of our guys’ first junior games.” Coming off a stellar 24- point (8 goals, 16 assists) campaign this veteran forward who drew a lot of strong praise from coach Todd DeMille for playing with so much grit also went on to add about that first game, “I thought we had good pace.
