By Chris Pimentel Writer City of Brantford Mayor Chris Friel is worried pending archeological assessments in the southwest of Brantford could be flashpoints. The City of Brantford is asking the Federal and Provincial government to help pay for an archeological assessment on the construction projects. Mayor Chris Friel told city council they have the potential to be flash points in the community. During a city council meeting last week the City of Brantford passed a motion to request both levels of governments for money to help pay for archeological assessments. “We want the federal and provincial governments to provide funding to enable Indigenous communities to participate in archeological assessments in the city,” said Friel at a city council meeting.
