Sluggers triumph at Redmen Co-Ed 3 Pitch Tourney

By: Neil Becker Sports Reporter There was no slowing down that high octane Sluggers offence as they went undefeated in triumphing at what was the 16th Annual Redmen Co-Ed 3 pitch Tournament. “It (tournament) starts off as for fun but the further you get into it, that competitiveness takes over,” Sluggers player Ben Henry Jr. a.k.a. Beatle said moments after celebrating what was a 9-2 Championship win against 69 Corners. Reflecting on the tournament Henry, who as fate would have it turned out in that gold medal game to play against daughter Madison Henry replied, “It’s such a close-knit community and it really doesn’t get overly competitive.
