Veteran Jordin Tootoo put on waivers by Buffalo Sabres

These are not easy times for NHL veteran forward Jordin Tootoo who recently saw what was a brief tenure with the Chicago Blackhawks come to a likely end. Tootoo, who last season scored three points (2 goals, 1assists) while racking up 28 penalty minutes in only 50 games, was one of three players who on October 2nd were put on waivers. After training camp which saw the 34 year-old veteran competing with Tomas Jurco for playing time, both these players along with goaltender Jean-Francois Berube were put on waivers which officially means that in the next 24 hours, every NHL team make claims for their services or if no one shows interest, they would be assigned to the AHL’s Rockford club.
