Hawks come up empty in weekend competition

Looking to make an early season statement the Hawks came up empty on Thanksgiving Weekend as they dropped a 7-4 decision in Dunnville before returning home and losing by a 5-3 score against Dundas. “I think we fell short with some sluggish starts,” Hawks forward Hayden Smith said. “But I liked our intensity for the Dundas game. For that Dunnville game, I thought they just outplayed us but we know we can be better and we’re going to keep working at it.” Smith, who continued to generate chances with his speed made his presence known by drawing an assist against Dunnville on that fourth goal while also taking on penalty on Saturday…
