By: Neil Becker Sports Reporter Though he might not be the biggest player, Hagersville Hawks forward Hayden Smith showed no hesitation in dropping the gloves. Late in the opening period Smith received a spirited ovation from fans and congratulations from his teammates after showing his willingness to drop the gloves during a Saturday night 8-0 home win against the Dunnville Mudcats. “It was in the heat of the moment things like that happen,” Smith said. “The boys were fired up and said I did a good job.” To say this win couldn’t have come at a better time for Hagersville would be a complete understatement as they came into play not only looking to revenge an earlier regular season loss against Dunnville but also desperately aiming to end what has…
