Job fair sets up in new convention centre

By: Chris Pimentel Writer The new convention center at the old bingo hall is continuing to get new events every week, and on Thursday it was the Grand River Employment and Training Job Fair that took center stage. Over 200 people came to the event on Thursday with about 59 employers accepting resumes. The attendance was an uptick from the 46 during last year’s event according to Cathy Smith who ran the event alongside MCS Consulting. “I am impressed with everything today. The venue, the organization, the employers it’s all just wonderful. People came with their resumes in hand, and they were ready to go the moment they came to the event.” said Smith.
