Christmas kicks off at Six Nations with craft tour

Wooden plaques bearing messages were population at the J.C. Hill Elementary School show

By: Chris Pimentel Writer Six Nations kicked off the Christmas season over the weekend with the Holiday Craft Tour taking place all over Six Nations. Vendors showed up and displayed their handmade crafts at J.C Hill Elementary School, Social Services, Mohawk Chapel and the Woodlands Cultural Center. Those who attended the event were able to find crafts from black ash baskets, cornhusk dolls, silver jewellery and moccasins to beaded fancies, and many other wares unique to Six Nations. Lynne Syke who was with the Silver Fox group felt this was a great chance to make a little extra cash for the group. “This is our fifth year doing this event and it helps raise a little cash for the Silver Fox long term care program.” said Skye.
