Nation to Nation summit with organizations…scarey stuff!

A Nation to Nation summit in Ottawa this week had the heads of national Inuit and First Nations organizations all present. A bit of a misnomer. Since heads of organizations can hardly represent a nation. Add to that the CEOs and chairman of most aboriginal organizations in the country along with Indigenous Affairs ministers federal and provincial and you have the making of a made in Canada “Indigenous Nation.” A Nation to Nation relation built in Canada as the Nation and Indigenous people as a little more than lobby groups. One of the highlights of the two day event was watching while the heads of all the national, Inuit and First Nations organizations said they had nothing to do with the development of the 10 principles released this past summer…
