OMSK students drop by Mohawk Chapel

Students were told all about the headstones at the chapel that mark the Haudneosaunee chiefs who came to the Grand River.

By Chris Pimentel Writer Students from senior kindergarten all the way to grade three from OMSK Elementary school were at the Mohawk Chapel early Friday morning to learn about the church’s history, play games, and hear stories about the church. One of the organizers of the event was Charity Hill, who has helped organize events for the church in the past. Hill wanted to incorporate the church in the school’s curriculum because she felt it was part of the history of Six Nations. “It’s important for the kids to learn the history of Six Nations even at a young age,” said Hill.
