Unity builds a future

First Nation leaders from across the country are in Ottawa this week to hear what Assembly of First Nations National Chief Perry Bellegarde accomplished in his past year. And Bellegarde didn’t disappoint. He gave a great speech about all the items on his to do list that had been accomplished. May even have had a few thinking this was an AFN election year. He even praised the current Liberal government for giving the “unprecedented” $11.8 billion in funding for various Indigenous files. Even if $665 million of it is still stuck in Ottawa. And he said he believes the AFNs own involvement in the election, pushing the Indigenous file, and shucks just maybe his decision to vote may have made a difference…? The speech talked about the need to improve…
