Brantford Woman Flees police

On Tuesday January 9, 2018 shortly before 8:00 p.m. a Community Patrol Officer made an attempt to conduct a traffic stop with a vehicle in the area of Stanley Street and Marlborough Street. The vehicle failed to stop and the officer was unable to obtain a licence plate number as the plate was obstructed. The vehicle fled at a dangerously high rate of speed and was last seen travelling north bound on Wayne Gretzky Parkway. The Officer did not pursue the vehicle in the interest of public safety. Another Officer in the North end of the City observed the vehicle turn onto Dunsdon Street from Wayne Gretzky Parkway. The vehicle was then located at a residence on Dunsdon Street. The driver was spoken to and investigation revealed that she was a suspended driver.
The accused, a 34 year old Brantford woman was charged with Drive While under Suspension, Flight from Police, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Entire Plate Not Plainly Visible contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and Operate a Motor Vehicle No Insurance, contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act. The accused was released on an Appearance Notice with a future court date
