He and his small family have a wonderful view of the Grand River. But last week, the river started getting closer. Simon said they know the river doesn’t reach them and they had a lot of supplies. But Thursday things changed. “We started running low on supplies but we couldn’t get out,” he told Turtle Island News in an interview. He said they thought the river levels would drop over night Friday. “The river didn’t go down, Saturday. It got higher and we were running out of supplies and getting low on food so we called the fire department.”…
