Man charged with mail theft

(Haldimand County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a 61-year-old man after a theft investigation that occurred at several addresses on Haldimand Road 9 and Haldimand Road 56 in York, Haldimand County, Ontario. On March 7, 2018, the Haldimand County OPP Street Crime Unit received a complaint from Canada Post after several of their customers reported their packages were never received.The complaints received from Canada Post dated back to December 2017. In partnership with the Canadian Postal Inspectors, the Haldimand County OPP Street Crime Unit monitored the area and identified a male suspect who was contracted to deliver flyers to area residents on behalf of a local delivery company.
