“Pot” shops opening at Six Nations as Ontario begins rules

With Canada moving to legalize marijuana for recreational users Six Nations is already seeing “medical” marijuana shops opening their doors, raids of one occuring and meetings sponsored by “pot” shops being held. Last week three Mohawk men from Akwesasne and Kahnawake were brought in by shops in other Haudenosaunee communities to discuss their views on marijuana. A week earlier a meeting held by a local shop, was held to discuss issues surrounding marijuana with seniors. Shops owned by people from outside Six Nations have begun to open. And all while the Haudenosaunee Confederacy Council decided two weeks ago not support the sale of marijuna, medicinial or recreational at Six Nations. The Mohawk Chiefs of Akswesane already issued a letter to their community announcing they do not support what is seen…
