Brantford bridges re-open

Brantford, ON – On February 21, 2018 the City declared a state of emergency in response to an extreme ice jam flood event that led to an evacuation order impacting 5,000 residents in the City’s floodplain area. A total of six bridge structures situated over the Grand River were closed to both pedestrian and vehicular traffic at various times during and following the ice jam event, including, Lorne Arch Bridge, Lorne Overhead Bridge, Brant’s Crossing Pedestrian Bridge, TH&B Pedestrian Bridge, Veterans Memorial Parkway over the Grand River (VMP) and Cockshutt Bridge.
