Community Energy Plan

By: Chris Pimentel Writer Darryl Hill from the Six Nations Economic Development Corporation was at the Committee of the Whole on May 7th to present the community energy plan. “I wanted to do a starter meeting on the energy plan that we did,” said Hill. Hill began his presentation by giving a background on those involved in the energy sector. Those included the Ministry of Energy, the Ontario Energy Board, Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO), the Ontario Power Generation (OPG) and Hydro One. The Ontario Energy Board regulate the energy industry and approve the energy rates said Hill. He added that the IESO “runs the show”, “they manage, operate and forecast for the electricity sector,” said Hill. The OPG generates the electricity and is owned by the Province of Ontario….
