Nanticoke Playing a big role in Albany’s success

By: Neil Becker Sports Reporter Nearly a decade ago UAlbany Great Danes men’s lacrosse coach Scott Marr made a monumental decision that continues to pay off. Looking to bring some Native American talented high school stars from upstate New York to his team Marr pulled the trigger in a big way by bringing such stars as Miles Thompson, brother Lyle and cousin Ty to the team where they quickly showcased that elite talent and turned the Great Danes into a dangerous powerhouse. Setting that bar the Thompson’s emerged as role models proving with their elite lacrosse skills which attracted fans that Native American players can fit and excel in college competition while also getting four years education and graduating with a degree.
