First Nations Elites Bantam AAA squad

By: Neil Becker Sports Reporter An ugly black cloud reared its head during what was supposed to be a thrilling time for a First Nations Elites Bantam AAA hockey team competing in Quebec City at a recent spring tournament. Competing for gold at the Coupe Challenge Quebec AAA tournament which was held from May 25 to 27th, it’s safe to say that this team made up of players 13 and 14 years old who come from Cree, Atikamekw and Algonquin communities in Quebec and First Nations communities in Ontario and Nova Scotia, were excitedly expecting to make new friends while indulging in that strong passion of laughing with peers and playing hockey.
