Hawks’ Hayden Smith excited to get season rolling

By Neil Becker Sports Writer Despite being a veteran, Hagersville Hawks’ Hayden Smith still admits to feeling some excitement and nerves prior to a new season. Looking in mid-season form during training camp, Smith who is coming off a five goal, 16-point campaign, is feeling pretty confident about the challenge of a new campaign. “I’m very excited to get back with the boys and hopefully go for a deeper run in the playoffs,” Smith said. “There’s always a bit of nerves there but once the game gets going it’s just another game, but I’m looking forward to having a good year.” After finishing last season fifth overall with a 15-24-2-1 regular season record, they couldn’t get past the Dundas Blues who beat them in what was a best four out…
