Establishment of a Mens Fire The process for establishing a Mens’ Fire is it is activated by the Haudenosaunee Confederacy Council for a single purpose and for a specific time. When the HCC was endangered by outside forces or found itself threatened by an outside force, the Mens’ Fire would be called upon. Once the problem cease to exist the Mens; Fire would cease to exist beyond that time. It was invoked by the HCC when they sent Deskeheh to Geneva, Switzerland. A group raised funds to send him and then was terminated. In 1959 the HCC gave permission to the Mens’ Fire to take over the Elected Council.
