Ted Nolan donates $75,000 to First Nations University of Canada

By Neil Becker Sports Reporter The former NHL player and coach says he is inspired by Anishinaabe teachings of the Seven Grandfathers…. always looking to the future, in making $75,000 donations to seven universities and colleges across Canada including the First Nations University of Canada. The donations, from the Ted Nolan Foundation, will come in the form of an annual $5,000 scholarship for a female student who demonstrates involvement in sports, business academics or their community. In announcing the latest donation, he said “Ever since I played that first game in the National Hockey League a long time ago in 1983 … this is exactly what I hoped to accomplish one day.
