Hunters’ safety message

Six Nations police are warning hunters to be aware of their closeness to schools after a local school reported shots in their area. On Monday Sept., 24th,at about 1:39 p.m. police responded to a report of possible gunshots in a school area. Children were outside at the time. Staff had the children return safely back into the school. Police patrolled the area looking for hunters or anyone in the bush area around the school. No one was located and no further gunshots were heard. Police are reminding hunters be sure safe hunting practices and firearm safety are paramount in everyone’s mind.
