Curt Styers stands with family members as he accepts his award from Six Nations Band Council.

Curt Styres, The First member of the First Nations to own a professional sports franchise, was honoured by the Six Nations Elected Council on Tuesday October 23rd 2018. Styres is the owner of the Rochester Knighthawks of the Nation Lacrosse League and won his second General Manager of the Year award in August 2018. He previously won the award, as well as being named the Executive of the Year, in 2011. Outside of the NLL, Styres is a co-founder of Grand River Enterprises, owns a stake in the Six Nations Arrows and funded the building of the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena. Chief Ava Hill presented Curt with a plaque in honour of his achievements and contributions to the Six Nations community….
