Two men accused of manslaughter are still waiting for their sentencing hearing. The hearing for Irvin Allen Maracle, 58, and Dwight Ronald Walton, 21, was originally scheduled for August 22nd 2018 and was adjourned until November 1st 2018. The case has been further adjourned because the Superior Court Of Justice was not ready to proceed with sentencing as a requested Gladue report was delivered late. A Gladue is a pre-sentencing report that Canadian Courts can request when considering sentencing offenders with Aboriginal backgrounds. The father and son were originally charged with the first-degree murder of 16-year-old Ashton VanEvery on May 31, 2016. Kenneth Appleton was also originally charged but those charges were withdrawn in March 2017.The two men are due back in court in November….
