Summer Olympics 2028 to include Lacrosse?

By Justin Lethbridge Writer While a recent announcement by the International Olympics Committee is a positive first step towards lacrosse’s inclusion to the Summer Olympics, fans might have to settle for an alternative version of the sport. On Friday the IOC announced that they have granted provisional recognition to the Federation of International Lacrosse for the next three years. The announcement means that the FIL will now be eligible to receive funding from the IOC while also being able to apply for development programmes. It will also help teams in attaining funding from national governing bodies and their country’s respective Olympic Committee. It’s a great start for the FIL who have been working towards Olympic participation since being formed via a merger between the men’s and women’s international lacrosse federations…
