Election year it’s legacy time

Political divisions at Six Nations have never been so polarized in recent history. As both sides worked to try to find a solution to the 1924 imposition of a federal band system they had actually been able to work together in the past. Highlighting that political truce of sorts was the 2006 reclamation negotiations that led to Six Nations getting a water treatment plant, repairs to the arena and discussions on return of lands a green buffer zone around the community to prevent heavy development from infringing on the community’s borders and more. But the talks fell apart, Six Nations ended paying for half the water treatment plant (we are still in debt over it) lands that were to be returned for residential use are now sporting green energy projects…
