Hawks suffer playoff sweep

By Neil Becker Sports Writer Hagersville Hawks General Manager Todd DeMille is hitting the high notes in singing the praises of his veteran forward Hayden Smith. Shortly after the Hawks were officially eliminated in a heartbreaking 3-2 Game 4 loss against the Grimsby Peach Kings, DeMille, reflecting on the playoff run, couldn’t say enough about Smith who wrapped up his Junior ‘C’ career with the Hawks. “Hayden started (for playoffs) on the fourth line and moved to the second line,” DeMille said. “He works hard and never gives up. We were lucky to have him.” DeMille added, “He showed up for playoffs and told me he was ready to play.
