Six Nations Elected Council quietly passes cannabis law

By Justin Lethbridge Writer Following community meetings, four separate drafts and months of debate, the Six Nations Elected Council (SNEC) has announced it passed its Six Nations Cannabis Control Law during an unannounced council meeting last month. SNEC sent out a press release Monday saying that it’s cannabis law was passed on February 25th, 2019. The press release announcing the passing of the resolution wasn’t sent out until a week and a half after the law was passed. On February 25th, Turtle Island News learned SNEC held an impromptu General Council meeting following a closed session of a Committee of the Whole (COW) meeting.
