Snow Snakes at Chiefswood Park

By Justin Lethbridge Writer The cold, wind or the rain could not stop the men and boys gathered at Chiefswood Park from enjoying games of Snow Snakes. Held throughout Saturday and Sunday the Snow Snake tournament drew men from as far as Syracuse to take part in the traditional game, regardless of what Mother Earth threw at them. “As long as there’s snow, they’ll play.” Organizer Cam Hill told the Turtle Island News. “Even Sunday was really good. The snow had melted down a little bit but we managed to preserve the track with the snow that was still on the ground.” Over 130 men and boys came out to play throughout the weekend.
