Kawenni:io defend school lacrosse championship gold By Neil Becker Sports Writer It may have looked dicey for awhile, but the Kannennio:io lacrosse team accomplished Primary gold for the second year in a row. Finding themselves trailing by two in championship play, Kannennio:io turned up the offence in scoring four straight second half goals to successfully celebrate a 4-2 championship win against a tough I.L. Thomas squad. “We won last year,” Kawenni:io Grade 3 student/athlete Colton Johnson said. “It feels good to win.” Johnson paced the championship comeback with a two-goal performance.
