Elected Council to Look at How Donations are Handled

Following the acceptance of three separate requests for donations totalling $7,000, the Six Nations Elected Council decided to look at its policies concerning donations. SNEC accepted a request by the Indian Defense League of American for a $2,500 sponsorship to go towards the 2019 Border Crossing Celebration in Niagara Falls, Ontario on July 20th. The Elected Council also voted to purchase a table of eight and have their logo displayed at Six Nations Polytechnic’s 25th Anniversary Celebration Gala on June 20th, at a cost of $2,500. Finally Council approved a donation of $2,000 to Golf Fore Timbuck golf tournament on July 6th. This is the third year in a row that the SNEC has donated to the gold event and that got one of the Councillors questioning their donations policies….
