By Neil Becker Sports Writer It was a frustrating weekend for the Six Nations Rivermen. Looking to start off the month of June with a bang, Six Nations instead dropped a Saturday night 9-8 decision at home to the Brooklin Merchantsand just 20 hours later lost 6-5 in Owen Sound against the North Stars. “We just took our foot off the gas,” Rivermen rookie Gates Abrams said in reference to the Brooklin game. “Penalties killed us in the third but we’ll bounce back. They capitalized on our mistakes.” The Rivermen who find themselves two points behind Brooklin and the defending Senior ‘B’ champions Oakville Titans, got off to a strong start on Friday as they opened the scoring with consecutive goals from Greg Longboat Jr. and Abrams.
