The Iroquois Roots Squad showing steady improvements By Neil Becker Sports Writer It was all about fun for Six Nations first girl’s rugby team who hit the field in their first exhibition game…. The Iroquois Roots girls played off against Brantford at the George Jones Field after just two grueling practices under their belts. This U17/U19 team, used what they learned in the fun exhibition game. “I wasn’t keeping score of the game, our girls did score twice though,” Iroquois Roots team coach Meagan Wilson said. “I find that rugby is easiest to understand if you just go out and play, so I think this game was a great learning experience for the girls and going forward will be easier to pick up.” Standing on the field, and enthusiastically encouraging…
