Price thrills fan Anderson Whitehead at 2019 NHL Awards Show

By Neil Becker Sports Writer Though Montreal Canadiens goalie Carey Price didn’t win any awards, he still took center stage at the 2019 NHL Awards. Showing tremendous compassion Price traveled to Las Vegas and on center stage surprised 11-year-old fan Anderson Whitehead in an emotional reunion which produced tears along with a standing ovation from the crowd. Whitehead suffered a devastating loss last November when his mother Laura Whitehead passed away from cancer. Laura Whitehead had wanted to do everything she could to make her son’s dream come true of meeting his favorite player, Carey Price. That happened last February, when a group of friends arranged for Anderson Whitehead and his dad to witness the Canadiens morning skate on February 23th at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, where they were preparing…
