Six Nations Chiefs prevail in overtime

By Neil Becker Sports Writer The Six Nations Chiefs dazzled the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena faithful with some overtime magic. Looking to take control on Monday, August 5th of their best of seven semi-finals series against the Oakville Rock; Six Nations scored two overtime goals from Chris Cloutier and Tyson Bomberry in taking the series opener with an 8-7 score. “Oakville beat us last year and they are a really good team,” Chiefs coach Rich Kilgour said. “We’re two evenly matched teams. It’s going to be a long, tough series.” Six Nations finished in second two points ahead of Oakville. The Chiefs were led offensively by Lyle Thompson who had a three- goal performance in the win.
