Six Nations Band office shut down hits 35 days

Across the lawn are tents, a teepee, picnic tables, a fire and cars filing the nearby lot blocked by piles of wooden pallets. It is now day 35 of the shutdown of the Six Nations Band Administration building. The protest began as a single day of action protest with protesters saying they wanted the Six Nations Elected Council to recognize the Haudenosaunee Confederacy Council as the governing body of the territory. As the days turned to weeks the demands became a grocery list of issues but always central to the protest was the demand to recognize the HCCC.
