Alex Whitlow thrilled to put on the Assumption Jr. Lions football uniform

By Neil Becker Writer BRANTFORD – Wearing the Assumption Junior Lions colours has been an absolute thrill for Grade 9 football player Alex Whitlow. Though he is a second stringer and plays a limited amount, that hasn’t dampen his spirit for the contact of football. “I like that you can hit people and not get into trouble for it,” Whitlow said with a smile following 35-0 loss to North Park October 10th at Bisons Alumni North Park Sports Complex . He says wearing the uniform is about team spirit. “It’s great. It means being part of a team. I’m excited to be part of the team and learn a bunch of things.” Assumption coach Mike Cherewka had good things to say about the strong development of Whitlow as a player….
