By Neil Becker Sports Writer HAGERSVILLE – When the final whistle sounded, Hagersville Hurricanes field hockey player Savannah Montour could hardly contain her excitement. Hagersville was looking to capture the girls’ field hockey zone championships and made school history Friday, October 18th defeating Cayuga 1-0 and capturing gold in front of a hometown crowd. An excited Montour said the Zone championship team lost last year. “Our school had a streak going but we lost against McKinnon. I was told that McKinnon lost and I was pretty excited that we were playing Cayuga because we beat them earlier. “ (in season).
