Toronto Rock OAKVILLE – The number one story from Toronto Rock training camp is that veteran forward Johnny Powless has agreed to a one- year contract. Now the two sides just have to wait for the league to approve. Last year, in what was his first season with Toronto, Powless quickly became a fan favorite by scoring 23 goals, with eight coming on the power play and 44 total points. “This is home now for Johnny,” Rock Owner, President, and GM Jamie Dawick said. “He’s had a few stops around the NLL in his career, but we’ve seen that once Johnny finds that comfort level within an offence, the sky is the limit.” Powless, who is now 26 years-old was drafted fifth overall in 2011 by the Rochester Knighthawks.
